On Drinking – stop at three, for the fourth is ours no longer, but belongs to Hubris. The fifth belongs to yelling, the sixth to prancing about, the seventh to black eyes. The eighth brings the watch, the ninth vomiting and the tenth, insanity and hurling the furniture.

The best cure for drunkenness is whilst sober, to observe a drunken person.
