Singer Meat Loaf Dies January 20; Comedian Louie Anderson Dies January 21
Meat Loaf, the powerful singer best known for his operatic “Bat out of Hell” album, died on January 20, 2022, at the age of 74. He also starred in the iconic 1975 film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” His birth name was Marvin Lee Aday, later changed to the first name Michael.
Just last fall, Meat Loaf said, “My voice is in incredible shape.” He was planning to tour, release an EP, and develop a game show. Meat Loaf is survived by two daughters.
Louie Anderson, the comedian, actor, and game show host, died on January 21, 2022, at the age of 68. He appeared in many movies, including “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and the “Coming to America” pair, and he hosted “Family Feud” for four years. He also had a prominent role in the FX series “Baskets,” playing the mother of Zach Galifianakis’ character.
Like Meat Loaf, Anderson had projects in the works. In 2020, he said, “I’m working on a new book and working on a new TV show. For a creative person, it’s kind of a fertile ground—once you get past the paranoia and the fear and the hopelessness.”
